So What Now? Jesus Came To Question (Senior High Bible Study/CROSStraining) - September 2010
1 - Revealing God's Heart (Who Is Jesus?)
Objective: discuss who Jesus really is, and understand more about how God has revealed himself through Jesus
Objective: This study emphasizes how we can know the depth of God's love, particularly because in Jesus the incarnation of God's love for the world is demonstrated.
Objective: Why was the transfiguration of Jesus a significant event that affects our spiritual lives today? Use this study to help students recognize the inner change and spiritual growth that are necessary parts of our transformation into "Jesus-mirror" believers.
Objective: Learn about the experience two travelers had when they met Jesus on the read to Emmaus. This study focuses on times and places when Jesus has drawn near to us and how we understand the transforming power of his presence.
5 - What My Life Must Be (Worship)
Objective: Students will learn about the Jewish Passover and why it is significant that Jesus shared this meal with his disciples. They will also discover the connection to the practice of communion, and how we approach this in The Salvation Army.
6 - The Father's Promised Gift (Baptism in the Holy Spirit)
Objective: The Salvation Army's position on the sacrament of baptism is explored and explained. Students will discover the concept of what it means to 'wear' your baptism daily.
7 - Unless I Go Away (Ascension)
Objective: Jesus' reason for leaving earth after his resurrection whould not be a mystery. Students will uncover the reason, now who the Holy Spirit is and what his role is in their lives.
8 - God' Deposit (Holy Spirit)
Obejctive: The Holy Spirit is promised to believers both in the present and eternally. We live in a world that desperately needs hope and this study will help students know they can have glimpses of heaven because we know the Holy Spirit and are indwelt by him.
9 - He's God The Whole World In His Hands (Reconciliation)
Objective: This lesson discusses what it meant for Jesus to accept the burden of human sin when he went to the cross, and our response as believers.
10 - Whosoever Will (Atonement for All)
Objective: This study will unpack what the doctrine of Christ's atonement means, and help students discover its relevance and impact on their lives and the lives of those they share with.
