Senior's Month

In many provinces June is associated with seniors. Many communities across the various provinces pay tribute to seniors by observing Senior’s Month. This provides an excellent opportunity to recognize senior men and women who make a viable contribution to society.

Seniors are the fastest growing population segment in Canada. Currently, 4.2 million Canadians are 65 or older. In the next 25 years, that number will double to almost 9 million people, representing 1/4 of Canada’s population.

Did you know that ? ? ?
  • today, 1 in 8 Canadians is a senior and in 2041, it will be 1 in 4
  • over 75% donate to charities
  • up to 335 provide informal care services
  • and 18% do volunteer work

Let us recognize their many talents, gifts, contributions and the vital role they play in society; in the workplace, in volunteer organizations, in families and communities.
