Partners In Mission Challenge

Self Denial and Sermon Series Idea

Partners In Mission Challenge
Historically in The Salvation Army, Lent has been used as an opportunity to give up something in order to give more to God's work.  Self Denial is what we used to call it.  Partners In Mission is now the title we use for this observance, and proceeds from Partners In Mission are delegated to specific partner countries.

The Go Series is a Partners In Mission tool which combines a Sunday sermon outline based on Matthew 28:19 - "Therefore GO and make disciples of every nation", with a focus on giving up something everyday as we recognize the needs of our fellow Christian brothers and sisters around the world.  Visit www.MinistryHelps.ca to download the pdf which includes bookmark masters for each week's challenge, a suggested scripture passage for the sermon, and complete directions on how to implement the challenge.

Each week has a theme (ie.  Go Home, Go to Your Neighbours, Go to the Schools) with a challenge on how to reach out in these areas, and how to give in light of our bounty.  A bookmark for each week is provided with this program which outlines a suggested sacrifice for each day.

At the end of the series, monies that have been designated for Partners In Mission are gathered.
